"I think FF naturally appeals to information junkies, not to Silicon Valley insiders specifically. so why not build a product that addresses the needs of this primary audience first, perfect it, and then later look towards adding features will make it more attractive to folks with lower thresholds of information consumption. that way you get a solid product that many levels of users can benefit from, and not just an unfocused toolbox of features." - .LAG boycaught [2hr 30min ago]

bollocks, and I hate to hear it coming from someone like you. Writing is real work along with manual labor, even if some of us consider ourselves lucky. - Duncan Riley duncanriley [4hr 20min ago]

I think I'm Robert's token blue collar friend. :D Card carrying member of the Teamsters union and everything. I think he is talking about work where your whole body hurts afterwords and leaves you walking like a 70 year old. Trust me when I say I fit that description and know what Robert is saying. - MarkCarras markcarras [4hr 15min ago]

Working is the dead of creativity. - Ryo wiredryo [2hr 26min ago]

I work hard at my job - but it is all mental work, decisions to be made, political battles to be won, proposals to write - and it tires me out, and stresses me out. But I remember "real" work too, an 8 hour dishwashing shift or waiting tables, midnight closing, 2 hours of cleaning and bone-weary bike ride home afterwards. Never again! - Luke Robinson londonyank [1hr 47min ago]

using friendfeed, you could create an imaginary friend, import all of the feeds you want into that account, and then subscribe to the imaginary friend's feed....voila - .LAG boycaught [3hr 8min ago]

or you can create a room in FF and do the same thing :) - WorldofHiglet worldofhiglet [3hr 6min ago]

@eric...perhaps. but if you mouseover some of the RSS badges, the sites being aggregated are things like "bruteforceSEO", "cheapHondaGenerators", "easydigitalsales"...etc. Maybe not spam, perhaps he's just aggregating a bunch of sites that tend to be spammy in nature...perhaps he's doing research. or, as @mattie surmises, maybe it's a hacked account. he's sure not life-streaming. to each his own i suppose. - .LAG boycaught [3hr 13min ago]

Sounds like one of those guys that read a book mentioning that FF can drive traffic to your site, so he joined and added all his gazillion ad filled "niche splogs". Kind of like the people that share every post they make on twitter, GR, digg, facebook, and everywhere else and has nobody subscribed to them, thinking the more they do it the more links they have and the higher their PR will be and more traffic google will send them. Common "get rich on the internet" crap that is being sold to lots of people. Crap SEO info written by people that know nothing but how to get desperate fools to part with their cash to buy their book. - April Russo app103 [2hr 55min ago]

I wonder if you may be right, April. I see top results in Google all the time of sites that have been submitted to Digg with only one or two diggs. The mere linking of those sites on Digg has made them a top result. Some could hope Friendfeed turns out the same way. - Robert Haas rchaas [2hr 43min ago]

@JesseStay How about a way to opt out from apps sending DMs. Like a do not autoDM me list. - Christian Burns christianburns [4hr 47min ago]

This would enable you to let your favorite app know that they have been hacked, for instance. I could also allow users to block other apps' auto dms besides just SocialToo. - Jesse Stay jessestay [4hr 46min ago]

Christian, that's what this would allow. - Jesse Stay jessestay [4hr 44min ago]
